Zack Lozier is a trumpet player in the Minneapolis – St Paul area.
Zack has experience performing everything from avant garde jazz to hip hop to polkas but he specializes in New Orleans music, jazz, big band, blues and world music. As leader, Zack’s groups have played weddings, corporate parties, non-profit fundraisers and clubs. He is an in-demand studio artist, experienced educator, and a fluent sight-reader. Zack sings lead and backing vocals. He has penned numerous compositions and arrangements and has experience in the booth as well with production and mixing credits.
Zack has been a trumpet for hire in the Twin Cities for over 10 years. His performance credits include: Doc Severinsen Big Band, Emir Doedato, Jack Brass Band, Todd Clouser, Davina and the Vagabonds, Hookers and Blow, New Primitives, Southside Aces, Bella Diva, Mama Digdown’s Brass Band, Wain Mcfarland, Mick Sterling, Vic Volare, Robert Bell and many others. He has extensive touring experience playing internationally in England, Switzerland and Spain, as well as in New York City, Memphis, Las Vegas, etc. Zack visits and plays in New Orleans as often as possible.
A graduate of Milwaukee High School of the Arts under the direction of Clifford Gribble, Zack was part of a Down Beat award winning jazz combo in 1996. He since studied at the University of Minnesota with Dr. David Baldwin, Dr. Ron McCurdy and Dean Sorenson. Other teachers along the way include Rick Germanson, Jeff Pietrangelo, Mike Plog, Al Johnson, Larry Foyen, Mike Betz, Bob Linsday and on one lucky occasion Brian Lynch.
